Can I Put Black and Silver Number Plates on my car?

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency explained in 2015 that vehicles manufactured more than 40 years ago were eligible to display the traditional black and silver number plates, but on 1st January 2021, the rules were changed and only vehicles manufactured before 1 January 1980 are eligible to display the black and silver number plates irrespective of being 40 years old and recorded on the DVLA’s Historic Tax Class.
