What a fantastic example it is, probably the best in terms of structure, originality & driving experience – If you know your GTV’s & want a fantastic period correct colour combination please book a test drive!
We are truly privileged to offer to the UK market this time warp, original & highly desirable Alfa Romeo GTV (116 360). This is an Italia home market LHD model built on 25th March 1981, with a glorious twin cam matching numbers 1962cc motor, now UK registered, tax & MOT exempt & comes complete with copies of the original Italian log book.
This incredible find was first registered CO 645421 in Como, Italy, where it has resided with 2 careful Italian owners until 2015. You can just imagine the Giorgetto Giuiargo design dashing around the glorious lake, the stuff movies are made of. The first owner Eloa Tamarindo now 64 years young, purchased the car & has always resided in Como near to the lake. The car was used sparingly hence its low mileage & time warp appearance. She sold it in 2005 after 24 years of careful ownership to an elderly local dealer who used it as a display in his Como showroom. There it sat warm & dry until 2014 when a Norwegian gentlemen named Bjorn whom resided in Esher, Surrey purchased the vehicle & had it transported to the UK. Thus to date the vehicle has only had 3 owners & is now looking for its forth careful owner.
On arrival & after a thorough test, Bjorn knew a certain amount of recommissioning was required – 9 years in the dealer’s showroom meant this was inevitable.
He entrusted the vehicle to Alex Jupe Motorsport Ltd in West Sussex where a thorough overhaul was conducted & any backlog maintenance picked up. The works included: New front & rear brake callipers, braided brake hoses, brake master cylinder, front & rear brake discs, brake fluid, complete exhaust system, hangers & gaskets, front, centre & rear prop donut, centre prop bearing, front gearbox mounts, clutch slave cylinder, braided clutch hose, oil filter with Valvoline Racing engine oil. Antifreeze flush & fill. Air filter, water pump, fan belt, top radiator hose, bottom radiator hose, bypass hoses, radiator cap, overflow hose, sundry clips & air filter ducting, spark plugs, clean out brake fluid reservoir, fit new front shock absorbers, new fuel lines to carb, fit poly bushes & refit caster rods, machine gearstick to remove ‘slop’ in mechanism, new fuel filter, fit new front & rear seat belts & fully road test & MOT. The bill for parts & labour which is held in the history amounts to £4,562 plus a new set of Pirelli P4 tyres at £2173.76. Added to this the MOT & number plates, a new battery & over £5,000 was spent!
We were meticulous in our further preparation prior to offering this exception example to the market by undertaking the following works: Fitted a new Varta battery, filled the fuel with £40 of super unleaded. Conducted a full check over & test & supplied a new MOT with no advisories. Supplied a Alfa Romeo Key ring, undertook a detailed interior & exterior valet including a full 3M machine polish of the glorious external paintwork & refinished the exterior plastic finishes. The car is on the button & ready to go & show or just enjoy…
The vehicle has only travelled 50,091 Km / 31,125 miles from new, stated as correct & verified by the condition of the vehicle – The car speaks for its self however, having only been repainted once to date in circa 2012 to a high UK standard in the original factory colour of Grigio Nube.
This fantastic time warp specimen is the best structurally preserved example I have ever seen, let along had the privilege to purchase. It wears the original factory under seal in the wheel arches & on the undercarriage, with no patches or plates! The factory spot welds are also visible. Make no mistake this GTV has one of the best original floors we have ever seen & reflects the dry climate the car has resided in & the low mileage. This car drives much as a new GTV would in 1981, make no mistake, this is not your average patched & poorly maintained example. You won’t get another as honest, straight, preserved & out of the box condition.
The paint work repainted circa 2012 to a high professional UK standard seems excellent with a deep lustre. Grigio Nube suits the GTV’s stylish lines & matched with the original creama velour interior presents with a most appealing period correct colour combination. Even the head lining is original & immaculate. The boot floor another known trouble spot is also in excellent preserved condition.
Fresh MOT with NO advisories.
Free historic road tax (UK).
Fully UK Registered on 7th May 2015.
Please note the number plate 1 SIG is for advertising purposes only & does not come with the car or form part of the sale.
The vehicle comes with a nice history file containing, UK V5C, Copy of original Italian log book / libretto, Copy of Italian ACI Certificato Di Propieta. Original factory handbook (In Italian), Receipts as noted above from Alex Jupe Motorsport, Receipt for new Tyres, past MOTs, new MOT & magazine where the car was featured in a write up, giving it a glowing reference.
2 sets of original keys, including master on AR key ring, original spare wheel, factory warning triangle, factory jack, New wheel wrench & the compulsory Italian high vis vest.
Original AR GTV steel wheels shod with excellent matching Pirelli P4 tyres.
It certainly is a genuine cherished example & looks resplendent – Find another as original & well preserved.
You could actually use this example for every day use, transportation to the Revival, or as a contender at classic car shows & be proud of it in any circumstance.

Our Alfas, Lancias & Fiats come recommended by a leading authority – Ricambio International Ltd. I actually have a light blue 1964 500D that makes up part of my own private collection & every body loves it! (I would love to keep this example as part of my own collection also). It always puts a smile on my face, plus you don’t need to worry about the rising petrol prices – Just enjoy!

This vehicle is exceptional value, try & find another as original & with such low mileage & ownership – Please remember ‘you get what you pay for’. Our cars are hand picked by a marquee expert & we turn down 8 or 9 out of every 10 cars offered. The cars we sell, are we believe the best of their type & are here to be viewed & driven in the UK. This takes the gamble out of buying a car direct from Europe sight unseen. Our stock comes fully UK MOT’d, serviced & detailed. Don’t confuse them with other cars on the internet which have had dubious restorations & are offered with a low asking price. There is always a reason why a car is being sold cheaply!
