  • Fiat 500 N 1958 (Historic Plate) Green

    Description

Launched as the Nuova (new) 500N in July 1957 as a successor to the Fiat 500 "Topolino", this was a cheap and practical little town car measuring only 2.97 metres (9 feet 9 inches) long and powered by a 2 Cylinder 479 cc 13bhp air-cooled engine with a 4 Speed Manual Gearbox and it was considered to be the first purpose designed 'City' car.
All of the early cars had 'fixed' Door Windows, Suicide Doors, a full Convertible Fabric Roof, no rear seat - only a fabric covering, tear-drop Indicators on the front wings and air vents on the front panel beneath the headlamps.

.According to Fiat archives, this 'matching numbers' example - VIN No: 110*035637 and Engine No: 110.000*2169907 was built in Fiat's Mirafiori plant in Turin in January 1958 and first registered in Italy.
It remained in Italy until being imported to the UK by a Mr Michael Fletcher from Wrexham who registered the car here in the UK on 14th January 1981. After 33 years in 2014 he sold the car to an Italian family who own a couple of Italian restaurants in London and they sent the car back to Italy to be fully restored.

After a 4 year restoration costing over €30,000, the car has just been sent back to the UK and given to us to sell on behalf of the Italian family.

This car is simply stunning throughout and in 'Concours' condition. It has had some new panels + a fully rebuilt Engine and it has been repainted in the original Fiat 362 Verde Chiaro with new matching Green seat covers with White tops, mottled Green door trim pads, Black rubber floor mats, original White bakelite Steering Wheel, opening 1/4 lights on the doors and its original refurbished steel wheels with new Michelin Tyres.

Since the completion of the restoration the car has only covered 75 Kms and it is lovely to drive. Upon sale it will be given a pre-delivery service and new MOT, although it is now exempt and does not require one, and it is of course registered as an ‘Historic Vehicle’, so Road Tax is Free!
This is very much a 'collectors' car due to its rarity and high value, but it will certainly appreciate in value going forward and this beautiful example will certainly complement any private car collection.

Car on display @ our showrooms in Mortlake, SW London.
