Ford Capri 2.0 S 1983 (A) Burgundy
The Ford Capri MkIII was referred to internally as "Project Carla" and was a substantial update of the Capri II.
The MkIII was first introduced in 1978 and featured improved aerodynamics with a rear spoiler leading to improved performance and economy and the trademark and quad headlamps and black slatted grille very similar to the Escort RS2000 were introduced.
Production of the Capri ended at Halewood in 1976 and the Capri MKIII was made exclusively in Germany. When the last Capri was made on 19th December 1986, 1,886,647 cars had rolled off the production lines.
This 'time-warp' example was supplied new to its first owner by Ford Dealer Norman Reeves in High Wycombe, Bucks on 12th December 1983. It is finished in Imperial Red Metallic with original decals, Grey/Black striped cloth seats with Grey vinyl trim, Grey carpets, Slide/Tilt Sun Roof with wind deflector, all original instrumentation including AM/FM Radio, rear Wiper, front Spot Lights, rear Fog Light, 1993cc OHC Engine with Twin-choke downdraft carburettor, 5 Speed Manual Gearbox and its original 13" Alloy Wheels.
This car has only had 2 previous owners from new, the first for 22 years, the 2nd for two years and the last for 6 years. It has now covered a genuine 23,025 miles from new and comes with all its original documentation including New Car Order Form, original Handbooks and Manuals, MOT Certificate's from 1990 and all Tax Discs from 1985 which is very rare. It has always been garaged throughout its life and was off the road from 1999 until being sold in 2005. Its overall condition is exceptional for its age and it drives beautifully.
It was MOT'd on 12th July 2013 and flew through with no advisories. An appreciating 'classic' for sure!
