  • Innocenti Mini Minor MK1 1967 (Registered Overseas) Old English White

    Description

The Innocenti Mini was built under license from BMC (latterly BLMC) at Innocenti’s plant just outside Milan between 1965 and 1975 and there were numerous differences from the English versions including better equipped interiors and a number of exterior modifications that were all produced by Italian companies.

The Innocenti Mini Minor 850 Mk1 was built between September 1965 and September 1967 with the 997 cc Mini Cooper being introduced in 1966 and over 100,000 MK1’s were produced by Innocenti before the Mk2 version was introduced in October 1967 followed by the MK3 in early 1970 in line with production in the UK.

In 1972 Innocenti was purchased for £3M by British Leyland when Innocenti sales in Italy were second only to those of Fiat and ahead of Volkswagen and Renault. At the peak production under BLMC, 62,834 cars were sold in 1972 and exports rose to more than 17,000 by 1974. However, by 1975 BLMC ran out of money and was nationalised by the UK government and Innocenti was sold in February 1976 to Alejandro de Tomaso and was restructured by the De Tomaso Group and renamed Nuova Innocenti.

Recently arrived from Italy, this lovely Mk1 Mini Minor 850 - VIN No: B38/1*354522 - Engine No: 8AP-U-H9525 was built by Innocenti in Milan in July 1967 and was first registered in Brindisi, Southern Italy on 8th August 1967.

The car is in beautiful condition throughout having received a cosmetic repaint of the exterior in Italy before being sent to us for sale and it is a very original and rust free car that has 94,277Kilometers (58,600 miles) registered on the Speedometer, although we cannot say if this is original due to there being no Italian history, which is pretty normal unfortunately.

The car is finished in its original colour scheme of Old English White with a Black vinyl interior (front seats re-trimmed), Grey carpets, 848cc Engine and original 10" Steel Wheels with chrome hub caps and Innocenti badges.

The car has just been MOT'd and is in the process of being UK registered. Its overall condition is excellent and it drives beautifully.
Upon sale, we will give the car a pre-sales service and it will come with a 6 month Mechanical Warranty that can be extended at additional cost if required.

Car on display at our showrooms in Mortlake.
