  • Piaggio Vespa 100 1981 (W) Raw Steel


    This Piaggio Vespa 100 - Chassis: V9B1T*21214 was found in a Barn last year and has been completely rebuilt by Omar Niedenthal of 'Niedworks' in Hook, Hampshire.

    Omar's background includes ten years of engineering and prop building, including vehicles, mechanical systems and furniture for numerous high profile feature films (usually Warner Bros. productions) shot at Pinewood and Shepperton Studios and it was a logical progression to combine his love and knowledge of custom fabrication to two wheeled vehicles.

    Comprehensively rebuilt using NOS (new old stock) panels from SIP-Scooter in Germany, body polished and preserved with wax which maintains the beauty of the metal, unlike clear lacquer which tends to yellow over time and trap moisture underneath it.

    The Engine has been completely rebuilt and has the DR130cc cylinder upgrade, Mazzucchelli Crankshaft, FAG/SKF bearings throughout, new Dellorto SHB19.19 Carburettor breathing through a sporty Malossi Air Filter, rebuilt 3 Speed Transmission with new gear selectors & shims, new Clutch, Control Cables, Stator, Points and Wiring Loom and new gaskets throughout.

    The Chrome FACO Banana Exhaust sounds like a refined chainsaw, the scooter also has new Yokohama Tyres, new Seat and a genuine Piaggio NOS fuel tank. The frame alignment was also checked on jig prior to final assembly.

    On the panels you can see the pull of the metal pressings which creates a really interesting texture and all welds are visible. See close up pictures.

    Essentially a 'New' Vespa and with all the upgrades this scooter well keeps up with modern traffic. Serious fun!
