  • Volkswagen Golf GT1 MK1 1.6 5 Door 1982 (X) Grey

Ultra rare European spec 5 Door Golf GTi MK1 1.6

VIN No: WVWZZZ17ZCW438106 was built in Germany on 1st February 1982 according to the Volkswagen COC and it was first registered in Brindisi, Italy in April 1982.

This 5-door version was only sold in Europe for the 1982 model year and was one of only a small number of cars built over six months between December 1981 and June 1982, exactly how many of these were made we don't know!

It is finished in Atlas Grey Metallic with Grey check cloth trim, 1.6 Fi Engine, 5 Speed Gearbox, Manual Sun Roof, optional inertia reel Seat Belts in both the front and back + a middle lap belt, additional door mirror and original spec Alloy Wheels.

This car has been in Italy from new and was imported to the UK in January 2018 and is now registered here in the UK. We do not have a history file from Italy, but it has a recorded mileage of 110,223 Kilometers (68,500 miles) which we were advised is original.

The car is in exceptional condition throughout after having a cosmetic restoration in Italy and it drives beautifully.

According to Hagerty, "the most sought-after GTi model is the better-built 5-speed 1600cc Mk1 if you can find one!"

Upon sale the car will come with our own customer care package including a new MOT, HPI/provenance Checks, 55-point pre-delivery inspection and 6 months mechanical breakdown Parts & Labour Warranty which can be upgraded and extended at additional cost if required.

Car on display @ our showrooms in Mortlake.
